Dressage & Jumping With The Stars by Berni Saunders
Patou, a petite and nicely put together mare who I saw at the recent FEI Dressage Forum in Sydney. German Young Horse Judge, Jan Bemmelmans complimented Carolyn Henley on her ?eye for a horse? and everyone agreed that Patou was one to watch! She was a little hollow but a gorgeous mare with great ?up in front? posture and frame. Patou has very expressive paces but was a little tight to show the softness that the judges were looking for. She recorded the highest mark for the trot so far but a few marks lost for submission.

Fifth was the movement machine Patou, a dynamic bay mare bred, owned and ridden by Carolyn Henley. Patou, by Alberich and out of a Rocadero mare, scored 7.22 after an error of test which dropped her from Friday to 4th place. |

May 2005 - Patou started her ridden career at 3 years of age and after only 4 months of work, went onto place 3rd in the 2005 Sydney CDI.

October 2005 - she then went on to WIN her next 4 Year Old Young Horse qualifier at Clarendon.
She qualified easily to compete in Dressage With The Stars at Werribee. She had the third highest score in the 4 Year Old class and would have placed 3rd, but due to an error of course (rider error) lost 2 points and was then place 5th. Patou received the highest score for trot in the first round, which was judged by the highly respected German judge, Harry Bolt.

March 2006 - Patou received the second highest score for movement and conformation (77.25) out of all mares classified by ACE throughout Australia (60 in total), by the renowned german classifier, Gerhardt Thele.

May 2006 - Patou returned to the Sydney CDI Young Horse competition, placing 1st in the first round and 2nd in the second round.

| Patou has been written about as the "movement machine" and an "amazing mover". She was noted in Cyberhorse as "the one to watch". Patou has already had a super career and can only go forward from here. She is really an exceptional mare of truly international quality. |
